ABOUT

I’m a wildlife and macro photographer based in Manchester.  I first took up photography in late 2013, initially as a way to keep sane whilst trying to balance the demands of working full time and studying for professional qualifications.  What started off as a hobby quickly took over and became a complete obsession – this only accelerated when I completed my qualification and was able to spend more time behind the camera.  Now, when I’m not working I’m normally out taking photos or planning my next project or adventure!

My interest in the natural world has been present for much longer – almost all my life in fact.  And my chosen photographic subjects bring these two enthusiasms together.  I love to seek out and photograph ‘hidden nature’ – the species that exist right underneath our nose in quite surprising locations, and that we might not be aware of.  To this end, many of my photographs are taken in the centre of Manchester and in the local area around my home - with the occasional trip further afield of course!  How much wildlife can there really be in the heart of the city?  Take a look through my gallery and see!
